Mid-America Association for the Education of Young Children

Mid-America covers 28 counties in the northwest third of the state. A bi-state affiliate, Mid-America AEYC also serves counties in Kansas. The organization brings together over 600 individuals concerned with the quality of lives of young children in Kansas and Missouri. These members help fulfill the organization's mission: "To improve the quality of programs and services for young children, birth through eight years, and their families through professional development opportunities for early childhood educators and increased public awareness."
Opportunities available to members include local conferences, scholarships for members pursuing educational development, newsletters and e-newsletters to announce matters of interest on the local, state, and national level, and networking and collaboration with other agencies, organizations, and individuals in the area who share concerns for young children. The Mid-America AEYC office is currently managed by and housed in Midwest WholeChild Development Group in Overland Park, KS, at 8001 Conser Ste. 280.
